Obverse description Right-facing crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the third portrait by Raphael David Maklouf, depicting the Queen wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara. The truncation of the bust is visible at the lower field. The peripheral legend reads ISLE OF MAN ELIZABETH II with the mint mark PM and date 1985 positioned at the base of the coin, all in raised Latin lettering conforming to the heptagonal flan.

Obverse lettering ISLE OF MAN ELIZABETH II PM 1985
Reverse description Central shield bearing the Arms of the Isle of Man — three armoured legs conjoined at the thigh and flexed at the knee, arranged in triskele fashion within a heraldic cartouche, as engraved by Leslie Lindsay. The shield is framed by ornamental scrollwork and foliate flourishes that follow the contours of the equilateral curve heptagonal flan. The denomination numeral 20 appears in the lower portion of the field beneath the shield, with no additional legend present.
