| Obverse description | Uncrowned effigy of King Charles III facing left, after the portrait by Raphael David Maklouf. The legend CHARLES · III · KING OF GIBRALTAR encircles the upper field, with the denomination TWENTY PENCE and the date 2023 positioned in the lower portion of the coin. The design follows the conventional layout of Gibraltar decimal coinage with the royal portrait as the central device. |

| Additional information |
Gibraltar's coronation issues have been a reliable fixture since Elizabeth II's 1953 accession, with the territory consistently producing commemorative coinage independent of Royal Mint output. This piece marks Charles III's coronation on 6 May 2023 — the first British coronation in 70 years — issued under Gibraltar's own authority as a British Overseas Territory with its own currency ordinance.
Gibraltar coinage, though legal tender locally, circulates almost entirely as a souvenir economy.
