| Obverse description | Central field dominated by the elaborately calligraphed toughra (imperial monogram) of Mahmud II, rendered in the Ottoman style with characteristic looped and extended strokes. A small star appears adjacent to the toughra within the inner field. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner border, itself surrounded by a decorative outer border following the irregular flan edge. The overall style is characteristic of provincial Ottoman hammered coinage. |
