Obverse description Central field features the elaborate tughra (imperial monogram) of Sultan Abdülaziz, rendered in fine relief with characteristic foliated finials and looped strokes rising above the monogram body. The tughra is flanked on either side by symmetrical olive or laurel branches curving upward from the lower field, framing the device in a wreath-like arrangement. A beaded border encircles the entire design. The overall composition is characteristic of mid-19th century Ottoman coinage produced at the Constantinople Mint.
