| Reverse description | The reverse displays a circular arrangement of bold Arabic calligraphic legends filling the field, with the denomination numeral '٢٠' (20) prominently struck at the center. Surrounding the central numeral, the inscription reads 'عز نصره ضرب في قسطنطينية سنه ١٢٧٧', conveying the invocatory phrase 'May he be victorious, struck in Constantinople, year 1277' in the Hijri calendar. The Hijri regnal year '١٢٧٧' appears in the lower portion of the circular legend. A continuous toothed border frames the entire reverse design. The calligraphic rendering is in the Ottoman Thuluth style, characteristic of imperial copper coinage of this period. |
