Obverse description The Sarnath Lion Capital of Ashoka, the national emblem of India, is depicted at center, showing three lions atop an abacus featuring the Dharma Chakra (wheel) flanked by a bull and a horse in relief. The country name appears in Devanagari script (भारत) to the upper left and in Latin script (INDIA) to the upper right, arcing along the periphery of the hexagonal flan. The denomination '20' appears in large numerals at the base of the design, flanked by 'पैसे' to the left and 'PAISE' to the right.
