Reverse description Large bold value mark XX, denoting 20 Nummi, occupies the central field, rendered in broad strokes typical of the Cyzicus mint under Phocas. A cross surmounts the numeral in the upper field, serving as a Christian symbol of imperial authority. The mintmark KYZA appears in the lower exergue, identifying the Cyzicus mint. The flan is irregular and slightly chipped, consistent with hammered Byzantine coinage of this period. The surface carries a deep green patina with areas of exposed copper-red metal.
