| Reverse description | Large Greek letter K (denoting 20 nummi, i.e. half-follis) occupies the central field, with a cross potent above. To the left of the K appears the inscription ANNO in vertical arrangement, indicating the regnal year formula; to the right, the numeral Xↅ (16) denotes the sixteenth regnal year of Justinian I. Beneath the K, the mint mark CH (Theopolis/Antioch) is placed under a small bar abbreviation mark. The overall reverse layout follows the standard reformed Byzantine numeral denomination design introduced under Anastasius I and continued through the reign of Justinian I. |
