| Reverse description | The numeral '20' in Mongolian script characters is prominently displayed in the upper field, separated from the lower field by a horizontal line. Below the line, the word 'Möngö' is rendered in Classical Mongolian script within an open wreath of stylized oak branches with budding sprigs, tied at the base. The wreath frames the denomination in a balanced, heraldic composition. A fine milled border runs along the coin's rim. |

Mongolia's 1925 coinage series was among the first issued by the Mongolian People's Republic following its formal establishment in 1924, replacing the theocratic government of the Bogd Khan. The Soviet Union played a direct role in the new state's monetary infrastructure, and these early silver issues were struck at the Leningrad Mint. The .500 fineness reflects a deliberate compromise — enough silver to establish credibility, not enough to invite hoarding.
