Obverse description Bare-headed, bearded effigy of Duke Wilhelm of Brunswick facing left, rendered in high relief with finely engraved hair and full beard. The truncation of the neck is cleanly cut, with the mint mark 'A' (Berlin Mint) appearing below at the base. A continuous beaded border frames the design. The circumferential legend reads WILHELM HERZOG Z. BRAUNSCHWEIG U. LÜN., identifying the ruler and his titles in Latin script.
