Reverse description The Wilhelmine crowned imperial eagle of the German Empire displayed with wings spread, the head turned to the right, and an ornate heraldic shield on the breast bearing the imperial arms. Laurel and oak branches flank the lower portion of the eagle. The legend DEUTSCHES REICH and the date appear to the left and right respectively along the upper periphery, while the denomination 20 MARK is inscribed at the base of the design, flanked by six-pointed stars. A beaded border frames the entire design.
