The portrait captures Bebel with a distinctive goatee beard and period attire, rendered in a realistic medallic style. To the left of the portrait, the birth and death years 1840 and 1913 are inscribed in two lines. The name AUGUST BEBEL appears in two lines to the right of the effigy.
