Obverse description Horizontal format note printed in red, purple, and grey on black-bordered stock, composed of distinct horizontal bands. The uppermost band carries the issuer name in bold red capitals, followed by a grey guilloche-patterned band bearing the payment order text in Gothic lettering. A large central oval medallion in red frames the denomination "ZWANZIG MK" in bold purple letterpress, with "KRIEGSNOTGELD" inscribed beneath. The lower bands display the issuing authority, date, and facsimile signatures of municipal officials, with a purple band at the foot bearing the slogan in stylised red lettering.
