Reverse description A standing lictor in Fascist uniform, holding a fasces, salutes a seated female allegory of Italia, who holds a torch in her right hand and rests her left arm on a shield bearing the Savoy coat of arms. The Fascist Era year (A.V) appears to the left of the lictor, while the Gregorian date 1927 and the mint mark R appear to the right of the figure of Italia. In the exergue, the denomination L.20 is inscribed along with the names of the engraver and the author: G.ROMAGNOLI and A.MOTTI INC. The word PROVA (meaning pattern or trial) appears prominently in the field, confirming the piece's status as a trial strike.
