| Obverse description | Bare-headed effigy of Victor Emmanuel III facing left, with short cropped hair and a small mustache, rendered in high relief with fine hair detailing characteristic of early 20th-century Italian engraving. The legend VITTORIO EMANVELE III arcs around the periphery, divided by the portrait, with VITTORIO to the left and EMANVELE III to the right. A small rectangular engraver's cartouche, attributed to Boninsegna, appears at lower left of the truncation, and the engraver's initial B is visible at the base of the bust.
