This is a fantasy piece — produced after the fact, almost certainly in the 1950s or 1960s by private Italian manufacturers catering to the tourist and novelty trade that sprang up around Mussolini memorabilia once the immediate postwar hostility cooled slightly. The attribution to 1945 is itself a fiction; the date references the year of his execution at Giulino di Mezzegra, lending the piece a morbid commemorative logic it was never officially given.
The X# prefix in Krause's catalog system designates it as a non-circulating or fantasy issue. No face value was assigned — whether from legal caution or simple oversight is unrecorded.
