| Additional information |
Part of Turkey's long-running wildlife conservation series, this issue highlights Rana holtzi, the Taurus frog, a critically endangered species endemic to a single high-altitude lake in the Taurus Mountains — Gölcük Lake in Isparta province. The species was named after German herpetologist Friedrich Holtz and was believed extinct for decades before a small population was rediscovered in the 1980s.
