| Obverse description | The obverse features a detailed architectural rendering of Ankara's historic train station (Ankara Garı) in the lower field, its arched facade and ornate stonework rendered in high relief. Rising dramatically behind the station is the rocky promontory of Ankara Castle (Ankara Kalesi), its ancient battlements crowning the summit. To the upper left, the stylized Ottoman tughra-inspired emblem of the Turkish State Mint appears in the field. The bilingual legend 'TÜRKİYE CUMHURİYETİ' and 'REPUBLIC OF TURKEY' runs along the outer rim, flanking a crescent-and-star device at the top, while the inscriptions 'ANKARA', '2015', and '20 Türk Lirası' complete the design. |
