| Reverse description | A frontal icon-style effigy of Saint Tsar Boris I, Baptizer of the Bulgarians, is portrayed in the Byzantine tradition, wearing imperial regalia including a jewelled crown and ornate robes. He holds a patriarchal cross-sceptre in his right hand and an orb in his left, with a circular nimbus behind his head denoting his saintly status. The figure is rendered in high relief with fine detail in the drapery and regalia. The Cyrillic inscription 'СВ. ЦАР БОРИС I ПОКРЪСТИТЕЛ' arcs along the upper periphery of the coin. |
