Obverse description Bare-headed effigy of the young King George I facing left, rendered in fine relief with carefully engraved hair combed back from the forehead. The circular legend surrounds the portrait, reading ΓΕΩΡΓΙΟΣ Α ΒΑΣΙΛΕΥΣ ΤΩΝ ΕΛΛΗΝΩΝ, with the engraver's signature ΒΑΡΡΕ appearing in small letters at the base of the truncation. The field is smooth and the design is framed by a fine beaded border.
