| Additional information |
Norway had been independent from Sweden for only five years when this coin was struck, and Haakon VII himself had been on the throne for barely half a decade — a Danish prince elected by plebiscite to lead a nation that had just dissolved its union. The 20 Kroner gold issues of this period were minted in modest quantities and saw limited day-to-day use, functioning more as reserve and settlement instruments than pocket change.
KM#376 pieces from 1910 are among the scarcer dates in the Haakon VII gold series.
