| Obverse description | Right-facing draped bust of Sigismund von Schrattenbach, Archbishop and Prince of Salzburg (1753–1771), rendered in high relief with fine portrait detail characteristic of late Baroque ecclesiastical coinage. The effigy is encircled by an abbreviated Latin legend beginning at approximately 8 o'clock, reading in full: Sigismundus Dei Gratia Archiepiscopus et Princeps Salisburgensis, Sacrae Apostolicae Sedis Legatus Natus, Germaniae Primas. Two distinct obverse varieties exist: KM#410.1 with the abbreviated legend SIGM.D:G.A.& P.S.A.S.L.N.G.PRIM:, and KM#410.2 with the slightly expanded form SIGISM.D:G.A.& P.S.A.S.L.N.G.PRIM:, as well as a further variety (Zöttl#3049) reading SIGISMUNDUS D G A S R I P S A S L N GERM PRIM. The field is plain, and the legend is rendered in Latin capital letters in the Roman script. |
