Additional information

The 20 Kreuzer denomination was a direct product of Maria Theresia's sweeping monetary reforms of 1750–1753, which attempted to rationalize the chaotic patchwork of coinages circulating across Habsburg territories. The reforms established the Konventionsthaler as the standard, with subsidiary silver struck to precise fineness ratios — the .583 standard here being a deliberate political compromise between Austrian minting tradition and the conventions agreed with Bavaria.

The Herinek reference numbers span multiple obverse and reverse die pairings across the twelve-year run, making attribution to specific year-die combinations a genuine puzzle. Several varieties differ only in the arrangement of the empress's titles in the legend.
