| Obverse description | Central field displays a crowned five-fold quartered coat of arms of the Bishop of Strasbourg, draped within an elaborate episcopal mantle and flanked by crossed croziers and swords as supporters. A cardinal's hat with pendant tassels is positioned above the crowned shield. The circumferential Latin legend reads around the beaded border, incorporating the bishop's title and the date 1773 at the base. The arms are rendered in high relief with fine engraving typical of late 18th-century German ecclesiastical coinage. |
