| Obverse description | Draped bust of Clemens Wenzeslaus facing right, set within an open laurel wreath tied at the base with a ribbon bow. The circular legend surrounds the wreath, reading CLEM. WENC. D.G.A. EP. TREVS. R.A.C. & EL., referencing his titles as Archbishop of Trier and Elector. The portrait is rendered in a refined late Baroque style with the subject depicted in ecclesiastical vestments. |

| Additional information |
Clemens Wenzeslaus of Saxony was arguably the most politically overextended cleric of the late Holy Roman Empire, simultaneously holding the sees of Trier, Augsburg, Freising, and Regensburg at various points — a plurality of benefices that drew sharp criticism even by the relaxed standards of 18th-century ecclesiastical patronage. His Augsburg coinage of the 1770s was struck during a period when the Prince-Bishopric retained nominal monetary independence, though that autonomy was increasingly a formality as Bavarian influence encroached on the region's affairs.
The Mayer 81b designation distinguishes this from the closely related 81a variety. Freising issues from the same prince-bishop share enough stylistic DNA to cause occasional misattribution in trade.
