Obverse description Draped bust of Karl August, Prince of Bretzenheim, facing right, depicted in contemporary aristocratic costume with lace cravat and powdered wig rendered in fine relief. The effigy displays naturalistic portraiture characteristic of late 18th-century German coinage. The encircling Latin legend reads CAR AVG D G S R I PRINC DE BREZENHEIM, separated by dot stops. Engraver's initials AS appear in the lower field beneath the bust truncation. The coin's milled edge is visible at the periphery.
