Brunovský was a Slovak graphic artist whose poster and illustration work had genuine international standing — his involvement in a late-communist banknote series was something of an anomaly, given how tightly the state controlled visual identity in currency design. This 20 Korun was part of a broader redesign push in the final years of the Czechoslovak socialist state, though the series would outlast the regime that commissioned it, remaining legal tender well into the post-1989 transition period.

Ondráček and Fajt were among the most accomplished intaglio engravers working at Státní Tiskárna Cenin during this period — the split engraving credit between obverse and reverse is worth noting for attribution purposes.
