The P#126A belongs to Ukraine's sixth banknote series, a redesign program the National Bank initiated in 2016 partly to remove Soviet-era aesthetic conventions from the currency. Notes dated within this range bearing the 2022 or 2023 year designation were produced during active wartime, with the NBU maintaining printing continuity despite the Russian invasion — a logistical and institutional commitment that itself makes the later dates within the range worth noting.
