Obverse description Salmon-toned note with a decorative floral and scroll border framing a central rectangular vignette of the village of Säusenstein, rendered in a woodcut-style black line illustration showing rooftops, trees, and a church tower with an onion dome rising above the settlement. The denomination '20' appears in Gothic blackletter numerals in the upper left and right corners, with 'Heller' centred at the top. The issuer's name 'Säusenstein' is inscribed in large Gothic script across the lower portion of the note, flanked by ornamental corner devices. The credit line 'Entwurf Oskar Neilinger – Druck von F. Kielar, Amstetten' appears in small print at the base.

Reverse description Warm beige note with a bold Gothic blackletter heading 'Gutschein der Gemeinde Säusenstein' at the upper right, with the denomination '20 Heller' at the upper left. The central vignette, executed in a woodcut-style illustration, portrays a crowned female figure in medieval dress standing at centre, surrounded by armoured knights and attendant figures in period costume, evoking a historical or legendary scene. Below the vignette, a cartouche with scrollwork border contains the redemption text in German, followed by the mayor's manuscript signature and the title 'Bürgermeister', with the anti-counterfeiting warning 'Nachahmung wird bestraft' to the left. The printer and designer credits appear in small print at the foot.
