| Obverse description | Dark brown and red Notgeld note printed in letterpress, with an elaborate ornamental border of scrollwork and dotted edging. At centre, a portrait vignette of the Styrian writer Peter Rosegger, identified by his name inscribed above, framed by a wreath of edelweiss blossoms. Flanking the central portrait are two oval vignettes, each containing a full-length figure in traditional Austrian folk costume — a woman to the left and a man to the right. The denomination '20' appears in large numerals at lower left and right, with the legend '20 Zwanzig Heller' across the bottom; 'III. AUFLAGE' (third issue) is noted at lower left. |

At the top centre, a vignette of the Marktbrunnen (market fountain) of Krieglach with its statue surmounting the structure. The denomination '20 Heller' appears in large bold numerals flanking both sides. A central text panel carries the redemption declaration of the Gemeinde Krieglach, valid until 31 October 1920, followed by the facsimile signatures of the Bürgermeister and two Vicebürgermeister. At the foot, the municipality name 'Krieglach' is inscribed, flanked by a decorative floral emblem. |
