Krieglach is a small market town in Styria, Austria, best known as the birthplace of the writer Peter Rosegger — a fact the municipality leaned into heavily during the Notgeld period. Austrian municipal Notgeld proliferated between 1919 and 1922 to address a genuine coin shortage, and Krieglach was among hundreds of Styrian communes that issued their own emergency paper rather than wait for Vienna to solve the problem.

The JPR0480e series covers the full set of Krieglach denominations from this issue. The 20 Heller is the middle value in what was typically a three-denomination run for communes of this size.
