| Obverse description | Green letterpress note divided into a wide left panel and a narrow right panel. The left panel carries the bold serif legends GUT-SCHEIN and ZWANZIG-HELLER in arched display lettering above an oval vignette of the Erlauf parish church and surrounding trees, with validity text Nur gültig bis 31. Dezemb. 1920 flanking the vignette and the issue date ERLAUF, am 5. APRIL 1920. at the foot. Two manuscript signatures appear below the vignette under the respective titles Der Vizebürgermeister and Der Bürgermeister. The right panel bears the numeral 20 within a double-ringed circular cartouche at the top, beneath which a decorative dotted Art Nouveau ornament leads to the two-line issuer inscription MARKTGEMEINDE ERLAUF IM NIBELUNGENGAU. |
