| Reverse description | The reverse is printed in olive-green and dark brown, dominated by a large central text block in German blackletter script setting out the legal terms of issue, referencing the council resolution of 19 March 1920 authorising Gutscheine of 10, 20, and 50 Heller, and specifying validity through 30 December 1920. The denomination numeral '20' appears in large rounded figures within dark cartouches at upper left and upper right, flanked by stylised plant motifs. A wavy guilloche pattern fills the background, and the designer's signature 'F. Würml pinx.' is inscribed in the lower right margin. |

Blindenmarkt is a small market town in Lower Austria, and this 20 Heller note is one of the thousands of municipal emergency issues — Notgeld — that flooded Austria between 1919 and 1921 when small coin disappeared almost entirely from circulation. The postwar coinage system had collapsed, and towns were legally permitted to fill the gap themselves. Blindenmarkt did exactly that.
The Jaksch/Pick reference places this in the second series (II), suggesting the municipality issued at least one earlier round before this printing. Small-town Austrian Notgeld of this period was often printed locally in very limited quantities, which makes survival rates unpredictable and series collation genuinely difficult.
