Additional information

Kremnica struck this copper pattern in 1940 during the early months of the Slovak State, the German client republic declared in March 1939 under Jozef Tiso. The new government needed its own coinage quickly, and Kremnica — already an established mint with centuries of operation — produced exploratory pieces before the circulating series was finalized. The 20 halierov denomination never made it to circulation in this form.
