| Reverse description | The reverse displays the numeral '20' in large characters at the center, with a stylized linden leaf incorporated within the bowl of the zero, serving as a national botanical symbol of the Czech lands. Below the numeral, the denomination indicator 'h' (haléřů) appears alongside the engraver's initials 'JB'. The entire device is contained within a raised heptagonal inner border. The orientation of the heptagonal frame relative to the coin's round edge varies among the known die varieties, as documented under KM#2.1, KM#2.2, and KM#2.3. |

The 20 haléřů was issued in the first year of the newly independent Czech Republic, which formally dissolved from Czechoslovakia on January 1, 1993 — the same date this coin's issuing authority came into existence. Three die varieties documented across KM#2.1 through 2.3 reflect incremental adjustments to the obverse die, a common pattern in early production runs when a mint is establishing tolerances for a new national series.
The denomination was demonetized in 2003, a casualty of inflation rendering sub-crown coinage economically pointless.
