| Obverse description | Bare-headed right-facing effigy of King Zog I of Albania occupies the central field, rendered in high relief with fine detail to the hair and facial features in the neoclassical style of engraver Giuseppe Romagnoli. The portrait is unadorned and truncated at the neck, projecting a restrained regal authority. A continuous Latin legend surrounds the effigy along the periphery, reading ZOG·I·MBRETI·I·SHQIPTAREVET. The date 1938 appears in the lower exergual area, flanked by the Rome Mint mark (R) to the right. |
