| Obverse description | Bare-headed effigy of King Zog I facing right, rendered in high relief with finely engraved hair detail, the truncation of the neck cleanly cut. The encircling Latin legend reads ZOG·I·MBRETI·I·SHQIPTAREVET, meaning 'Zog I, King of the Albanians', disposed around the periphery. The date 1938 appears in the lower field, flanked by the mint mark R for the Rome Mint. The portrait, engraved by Giuseppe Romagnoli, conveys a restrained neoclassical style characteristic of Italian medallic art of the period. |
