Reverse description A full-bodied peacock perched on a gnarled shrub with flowering branches forms the central vignette on the left half of the note, surrounded by several naturalistically rendered butterflies scattered across the composition. The denomination '20 FR' is printed in large bold numerals to the right, with 'NOUMEA' inscribed vertically along the left margin. A legal warning text in French appears in a cartouche at the lower right, flanked by a decorative torch motif, all executed in an Art Nouveau-influenced style by designer Roque and engraver Rita.
