Reverse description The reverse, designed by Roger Pfund, presents a highly stylised and complex typographic composition commemorating the centenary of the Geneva International Motor Show. The entire field is covered with a dense, layered pattern of repeating numerals '1905' and '2005' rendered at varying scales and orientations, evoking the passage of time and the dynamism of the automotive world. Emerging from this typographic texture is the abstracted outline of a vintage automobile headlamp or wheel, rendered in low relief. Large, scattered capital letters spelling out 'SALON INTERNATIONAL DE L'AUTOMOBILE GENEVE' and 'ROGER PFUND' are interspersed throughout the field in a deconstructed typographic arrangement. The overall aesthetic reflects a contemporary graphic-art approach to coin design.
