| Obverse description | Bare-headed bust of Prince Charles III of Monaco facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair and a full curled beard, in the naturalistic style characteristic of Ponscarme. The circular legend CHARLES III PRINCE DE MONACO runs along the upper periphery, while the engraver's signature PONSCARME appears in small capitals along the lower left truncation of the bust. The Paris Mint mark 'A' is placed at the bottom of the field beneath the bust truncation. The coin is bordered by a continuous beaded rim. |
