Obverse description Dark green and red intaglio print on white paper. A central vignette presents the allegorical portrait of Marianne, the symbol of the French Republic, flanked by anchor motifs at either side. The composition is framed by fine guilloche borders with the denomination and issuing authority inscribed in the surrounding legends.

Reverse description Green on purple and yellow guilloche underprint. The central design is dominated by a large circular medallion of intricate lathe-work, within which the anti-counterfeiting legal warning is inscribed in italic script. Large numeral «20» denomination counters appear to the left and right of the central medallion, with cloud-like guilloche corner ornaments filling each angle. The issuing authority title runs along the top and bottom margins.
