Reverse description An authentic Japanese 500 yen circulation coin (Y#125, depicting the paulownia flower design) is physically embedded at center, superimposed over the underlying struck design of the earlier Japanese 500 yen type Y#99 (featuring the paulownia and bamboo motifs). This unusual numismatic inlay presents both the obverse and reverse elements of the encapsulated coin within the host silver flan. The legend MILLENNIUM 2000 appears in the field surrounding the inset coin.
