| Obverse description | Central field bears four large Chinese ideograms arranged vertically and horizontally, flanked by Manchu script characters at centre. The primary inscription reads the reign title Guangxu and the denomination Yuanbao, with the provincial attribution 廣東省造 (Made in Kwangtung Province) and the weight standard 庫平一錢四分四釐 arranged in the surrounding legend. The design is framed by an outer border of Chinese characters with no figurative motif, presenting a purely epigraphic composition typical of late Qing provincial coinage. |

| Reverse description | A sinuous five-clawed imperial dragon occupies the central field, depicted in high relief facing forward with head at centre and body coiling clockwise, clutching a flaming pearl beneath its chin. The dragon's scales, whiskers, and flame-tipped tail are rendered in fine detail characteristic of the Kwangtung Mint style. The surrounding English legend is divided into two arcs separated by rosette stops, reading 'KWANG-TUNG PROVINCE' above and '1 MACE AND 4.4 CANDAREENS' below.
