Reverse description A sinuous Chinese imperial dragon rendered in high relief occupies the central field, its scaly body coiling dramatically around a flaming pearl depicted at centre. The dragon's head faces left with an open mouth and pronounced whiskers, rendered in the characteristic late Qing engraving style. Chinese ideograms are arranged around the periphery above and below the dragon, reading the province of manufacture and the weight denomination. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border consistent with the obverse, giving the coin a unified aesthetic. The reverse shows strong die detail with well-defined scales and flame elements.
