The Monnaie de Paris has issued lunar calendar pieces targeting the Chinese diaspora market and European collectors since the early 2000s, and the Pig — last appearing in the cycle in 2007 — completes the twelve-year rotation here. France's sizable Chinese-heritage community, concentrated heavily around the 13th arrondissement in Paris, gives these issues a domestic retail audience most other European mints cannot claim.
