| Obverse description | The stylized German Federal Eagle — the Bundesadler — is displayed prominently in the center of the field, rendered in a bold, modern graphic style with spread wings and talons. The mint mark 'G' appears in the upper right field above the eagle. The legend 'BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND' curves along the upper periphery, while the denomination '20 EURO' is inscribed along the lower border, flanked by five-pointed stars. The fineness inscription 'SILBER 925' appears in the lower field beneath the eagle, and the date '2019' is positioned along the lower right periphery between groups of stars. |

| Additional information |
Part of Germany's ongoing "Grimm's Fairy Tales" silver commemorative series, this issue draws on the Brothers Grimm tale first published in the 1812 collection Kinder- und Hausmärchen. The series is struck under the rotating German federal mint system, with production allocated among the five authorized mints — Berlin, Hamburg, Karlsruhe, Munich, and Stuttgart — depending on the year. The Staatliche Münze Baden-Württemberg in Karlsruhe held the contract for this particular release.
Germany's commemorative €20 silver program launched in 2016, replacing an earlier €10 series. The switch brought a modest increase in silver content alongside the higher face value.
