Obverse description A dynamic triskelion-style composition fills the field, formed by three interlocking curved bands each bearing the denomination '20 EURO' and the names of eurozone member states in the Latin legend reading around the periphery. Superimposed within the rotating design are two incuse medallions reproducing the obverse motifs of French euro coins — the Semeuse figure and the decorative tree — evoking the national coin heritage subsumed into the single currency. Twelve five-pointed stars, symbols of the European Union, are distributed around the outer border. The monogram 'RF' (République Française) appears prominently in the lower central field, asserting French sovereignty. The overall composition, engraved by Fabienne Courtiade, conveys the unification of twelve national currencies into the Euro.
