| Obverse description | High-relief draped bust of Empress Maria Theresa facing right, her hair swept up and adorned with a diadem, a flowing veil cascading over her shoulders in the Baroque portrait tradition. The effigy dominates the central field, rendered with exceptional sculptural detail evoking medallic portraiture of the 18th century. The circular legend along the upper rim reads REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH · 20 EURO, while the lower arc bears the imperial titulature M· THERESIA PIA FELIX AVG·. The design is contained within a raised inner border with a flat rim beyond. |
