Obverse description High-relief draped bust of Empress Maria Theresa facing right, her hair swept up and adorned with a diadem, a flowing veil cascading over her shoulders in the Baroque portrait tradition. The effigy dominates the central field, rendered with exceptional sculptural detail evoking medallic portraiture of the 18th century. The circular legend along the upper rim reads REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH · 20 EURO, while the lower arc bears the imperial titulature M· THERESIA PIA FELIX AVG·. The design is contained within a raised inner border with a flat rim beyond.

Reverse description An allegorical high-relief composition depicting Clementia personified as a standing draped female figure, extending her right hand in a gesture of mercy toward a reclining male warrior in Roman military attire who looks up at her. A majestic lion rests at her side to the right, and a tree with detailed foliage occupies the upper right of the field, evoking a garden setting. The word CLEMENTIA is inscribed in relief along the left field, and the Roman numeral date MMXVIII appears in the lower exergue. The scene is enclosed within a raised inner border and draws its inspiration from Baroque allegorical sculpture associated with the Habsburg court.
