| Obverse description | Central field depicts a ringed seal (Pusa hispida) resting at the upper portion of the design, rendered in fine relief against a stylised swirling wave background evocative of Baltic waters. To the left, a large salmon and two smaller fish are shown in naturalistic detail amid the decorative wave scrollwork that frames the entire composition. The denomination and country names appear in the right field in large incuse-style lettering: 'SUOMI' above '20€' above 'FINLAND', with a small heraldic lion mint mark of the Mint of Finland positioned to the right of the denomination. The overall design, by Essi Kulju, combines naturalistic Baltic marine fauna with stylised Art Nouveau-inspired ornamental elements. |
