| Reverse description | The reverse presents a stylised sailing boat whose sail is rendered in the form of a bird's wing, evoking themes of freedom and nationhood. A color-applied depiction of the Lithuanian national tricolour flag is incorporated into the composition, alongside a musical fragment from the Lithuanian national anthem. The semicircular legend NEPRIKLAUSOMYBĖS ATKŪRIMAS 25 (Restoration of Independence 25) is arranged around the upper field, and the mintmark LMK of the Lithuanian Mint appears in the lower portion of the design. |

| Additional information |
Lithuania declared independence from the Soviet Union on March 11, 1990 — the first Soviet republic to do so — and this issue marks the 25th anniversary of that Act of the Re-Establishment of the State. The declaration came fourteen months before the USSR formally recognized it, a period during which Soviet troops seized the Vilnius TV Tower in January 1991, killing fourteen civilians.
